description Work-family conflict has attracted more scholars’ attention in contemporary organisations. Any imbalance between work and family can cause conflict and affect personal well-being negatively, which is prominent among Chinese private companies. However, the existing literature rarely focuses on Chinese private enterprises. This research aims to evaluate how work-to-family conflict and family-to-work conflict are associated with work satisfaction, family satisfaction and psychological distress, to discuss the impact of work-family conflict on the well-being of employees in Chinese private enterprises. This dissertation adopts quantitative methods of questionnaire survey and uses snowball sampling to select 123 valid samples from Chinese private enterprise employees. Based on those samples, the finds show that work-to-family conflict is negatively related to work satisfaction, and that family-to-work conflict is negatively correlated to work satisfaction and family satisfaction. This article fills the gaps in related research by concentrating on Chinese private enterprises, enriches correlated theory, and helps managers to solve employees’ work-family conflict and improve employees’ well-being. In the end, the limitations are discussed, and suggestions are made for future research.
