Proses pengapungan udara terlarut semakin meluas dalam aspek rawatan air di seluruh negara. Proses ini semakin diterima dengan baik sebagai satu altematif kepada proses pemendapan kerana potensinya dalam menyingkirkan partikel-partikel yang keeil serta ringan, rekabentuknya yang ringkas dan hanya memerlukan kawasan yang kecil.
