This papers specific focus is on the roles played by job satisfaction, the aspects that form the basis of a certain attitude creation, effect of these attitudes on the behavior that is conducted at work. The subjects that are studied are beliefs, affect and cognition, perceptions, culture, disposition and situational factors, relationship between attitude and behavior, respectively. A new perspective has to be recognized to see the significance of job satisfaction to the performance of the organization in today’s business world where changes and uncertainty is consistent. Hence, a creative approach is necessary to be taken to respond to these market forces. A vast amount of literature has been generated on employees’ job satisfaction, employees’ attitude formation and the nature of conducting appropriate behavior. A qualitative approach consisting of semi-structured interviews with 15 former employees of a company based at IBM, Pune, India were carried out to find out what made these employees leave the company and why it was significant to them. In an organization, the human assets, which indicate the particularly unique qualities, skills and capabilities possessed by each employee. Hence, employee retention and its causes have to be thoroughly studied and understood in order to avoid losing these exceptional human assets. This study thus aims to highlight some of the reasons that could cause employees to leave their respective companies.
