description This paper focuses on the analysis of Acer Corporation’s internationalisation process from the Resource-Based view, RBV. Qualitative research method will be adopted in terms of the data collection throughout the entire research. It aims to examine the business strategies that Acer has adopted in terms of resources gathering and development. In addition, its internationalization pattern will also be compared and analyzed with the established theories such as the Uppsala Model, to see if it fits into any of those patterns. If not, the factors will be drilled and discussed based on the existing data regarding Acer’s development. In this paper, it reveals that Acer’s internationalisation process follows a spiral curve of development, with external industrial changes and its internal management perceptions serving as two major factors to determine the development of the curve. It also indicates that M&A has been the major approach in terms of resource acquisition. However, such risky activity has also created Acer tremendous loss resulted from its unsuccessful integration and coordination. Meanwhile, the learning process from the negative impact of such business strategy somehow pushed the company to further internationalize. It concludes that Acer has been internationalised maturely, since it has acquired significant resources and experiences from RBV perspective. However, the remaining challenge for Acer still rests on its integration on M&A.
