This dissertation aims to discuss the influence of organizational growth on the HRM practices of SMEs and the impact it would have on the employees. Starting by exploring the causes and effects of the growth process of organizations; and then with this understanding of the growth process, it will be incorporated with the HRM practices of SMEs. This is done after showing that there are differences in HRM practices between SMEs and large firms and that the conventional HRM model has to be modified. The HRM practices of the SMEs would also be described in detail to provide a deeper understanding of the theories and hypotheses.
The issues raised in this study will be addressed through qualitative research on a case study, by means of interviewing employees of a fast growing organization who come from a wide range of background; these findings would be compared with the theories and hypotheses to provide a deeper understanding and address the issues raised.
This study has revealed that the organization growth does change the HRM practices substantially and how receptive the employees are towards the changes are down to the perceptions of the individuals. |
