Pharmacology was scaffolded throughout curriculum and learning on clinical placement progressed as students advanced in the program. Clinical placement and self-tuition learning opportunities were highly valued. Medication side effects and contraindications remained challenging. A conceptual framework for pharmacology within UG nursing curricula was developed incorporating knowledge acquisition, application and decision making.
