| Summary: | This study, undertaken in Indonesia with EFL learners, investigated task difficulty using a mixed method approach. The findings suggest the manipulation of cognitive factors only partially align with the predication of the Cognition Hypothesis. Learners' performance was indicated by other factors, also reflected in the learners' perceptions. There was no apparent degree of fit between Ll raters' judgment and CAF measures. Thus there is a dynamic relationship between tasks, their complexity, and learner performance. |
