Description
Summary:This paper presents a comparative study between wavelet and curvelet transform for detection of breast cancer in digital mammogram. Using multi-resolution analysis, mammogram images are decomposed into different resolution levels, which are sensitive to different frequency bands. By extracting a set of coefficients from each decomposition level, a supervised classifier system based on Euclidean distance is constructed. The experimental results show that, using curvelet transform is much better than using wavelet transform for digital mammogram classification.
