Summary: | Mobile technology era offered many convenience ways in communication. In the 90s we used notice boards to spread information at the work place and learning institutions. It was common for students to go to the notice boards for useful updates. But now, many students own mobile phones and thanks to Short Messaging Services or SMS information they can get access to information much easily. Nevertheless, problems occur when the lecturer wants to give urgent information. That can only be delivered through the class representative. What happens if the class representative does not have credit to pass the messages to his/her classmates? This study was conducted to examine the usefulness and students' acceptance of SMS in classroom management. 92 students taking Information Technology courses from Masjid Tanah Community College, Malacca and Segamat 2 Community College, Johore were chosen as respondents. The researchers used SMS Officer Account as a tool to sent SMSs to the students and a set of questionnaire was distributed after one month of usage. The result shows that there was a significant relationship between the factor for using SMSs and level of acceptance to the use of SMS on the part of the students. |
