Summary:Welding characteristics of Aluminum T6063 plate specimen of l0mm thickness by a Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) were studied. Generally, the composition for this series which are 0.9% Magnesium and 0.6% Silicon are the highest alloying elements. The type of joining was studied in this research is Butt Joint and this research are also to be studied about their performance and capability. These specimens were welded by certified and skillful welder from Nautical Line (M) Sdn.Bhd. In this research, there are 3 characteristics of Aluminum T6063 to be studied; impact, hardness and the defects in the joining. To perform this research, Impact testing Machine, Rockwell Hardness Machine, and Ultrasonic testing Machine are used to carry out the data to be analyzed.
