Fruit load induces changes in global gene expression and in abscisic acid (ABA) and indole acetic acid (IAA) homeostasis in citrus buds

Fruit removal from heavily loaded citrus trees induces Ca2+-dependent auxin polar transport and reduces auxin content in the bud, suggesting hormone involvement in the control of alternate bearing.
