Subduction of Indian continent beneath southern Tibet in the latest Eocene (~35Ma): Insights from the Quguosha gabbros in southern Lhasa block by Ma, L., Wang, Q., Li, Zheng-Xiang, Wyman, D., Yang, J., Jiang, Z., Liu, Y., Gou, G., Guo, H.

    Published 2015
“…Here we report new results from the Quguosha gabbros of southern Lhasa block, southern Tibet. LA-ICP-MS zircon U–Pb dating of two samples gives a ca. 35 Ma formation age (i.e., the latest Eocene) for the Quguosha gabbros. …”

Geochemistry of hornblende gabbros from Sonidzuoqi, Inner Mongolia, North China: Implications for magmatism during the final stage of suprasubduction-zone ophiolite formation by Zhang, X., Wilde, Simon, Zhang, H., Tang, Y., Zhai, M.

    Published 2009
“…The Siluro-Devonian hornblende gabbros, together with a pre-490 Ma ophiolitic melange of MORB-OIB affinity, ~483-471 Ma arc intrusions, ~498-461 Ma trondhjemite-tonalite- granodiorite plutons, and ~427-423 Ma calc-alkaline granites from the same area, provide documentation of multistage crustal generation processes during the life cycle of this suprasubduction-zone ophiolite.…”

The relationship between gabbros and I-type granites in the southeast coast of Fujian, South China: Evidence from in situ zircon U-Pb dating, Hf isotopes and whole-rock geochemistry by Qiu, Jian-Sheng, Li, Zhen

    Published 2011
“…These complexes are composed predominantly of I-type granitoids, with lesser amounts of hornblende gabbro (<5% of the total igneous rocks). Zircon U-Pb dating yields consistent crystallisation ages of 109 ± 1 and 108 ± 1 Ma for the QZ gabbros and granites, and an age of 111 ± 1 Ma for the HC gabbros, which is contemporaneous with the spatially coexisted HC granites. …”

Precambrian evolution and cratonization of the Tarim Block, NW China: Petrology, geochemistry, Nd-isotopes and U–Pb zircon geochronology from Archaean gabbro-TTG–potassic granite suite and Paleoproterozoicmetamorphic belt by Zhang, C., Li, H., Santosh, M., Li, Zheng-Xiang, Zou, H., Wang, H., Ye, H.

    Published 2012
“…Zircon U–Pb ages indicate that the amphibolite to granulite facies assemblages in the strongly deformed Paleoproterozoic gneiss-schist belt were generated during a major thermal event at 1.85–1.80 Ga, and were again overprinted by late Mesoproterozoic to early Neoproterozoic metamorphism (1.1–0.95 Ga). Geochemically, the gabbros occurring within the tonalite–trondhjemite suite exhibit arc tholeiite signature and their chemical and Nd isotopic compositions suggest that they were derived from partial melting of a metasomatised and depleted mantle. The tonalites and trondhjemites have varied geochemical compositions but both preserve distinct Archaean TTG (tonalite–trondhjemite–granodiorite) signatures. …”

    Published 2016
“…© 2016 Elsevier B.V.Mesozoic intrusions, including MORB-type gabbros, high-Mg diorites, calc-alkaline diorites and granodiorites, were exposed in the Ando microcontinent that is bounded between the Qiangtang and Lhasa terranes. …”
