Enhanced electrochemiluminescence of N-(aminobutyl)-N-(ethylisoluminol) functionalized gold nanoparticles by Graphene Oxide Nanoribbons by Ismail, Nur Syakimah, Le, Quynh Hoa, Hasan, Quamrul, Yoshikawa, Hiroyuki, Saito, Masato, Tamiya, Eiichi

    Published 2015
“…The mechanism of electrochemiluminescence (ECL) of an N-(aminobutyl)-N-(ethylisoluminol) -functionalized gold nanoparticle (ABEI-AuNP) hybrid with graphene oxide nanoribbons (GONRs) as a functional supporting matrix on a modified screen-printed electrode (SPE) was studied under alkaline conditions. In our catalytic system, ABEI-AuNPs supported by GONRs were profoundly superior to the unsupported ABEI-AuNP/SPE, and exhibited greatly enhanced ECL intensity (≈30.0%).This difference is attributed not only to an 80.2% increase in the total surface area of the ABEI-AuNP-GONR/SPE, but also to enhancements of the ABEI-AuNP catalytic activity resulting from metal-oxygen bonding between the functional groups on the GONRs and the Au active sites. This improved catalytic activity of ABEI-AuNP facilitates both oxidative radical generation and fast reaction kinetics of the ABEI oxidation process. …”

Insulator-on-Conductor Fouling Amplifies Aqueous Electrolysis Rates by Rodriguez, H.M., Martyniuk, M., Iyer, K.S., Ciampi, Simone

    Published 2024
“…Here, we show that a strategic, partial electrode fouling with hydrophobic insulators (oils and plastics) offsets kinetic limitations caused by poor reactant solubility, opening a new path for the direct integration of renewable electricity into the production of commodity chemicals. Through electrochemiluminescence microscopy, we reveal for the oxidation of organic reactants up to 6-fold reaction rate increase at the “fouled” oil-electrolyte-electrode interface relative to clean electrolyte-electrode areas. …”

Association between dietary folate intake and blood status of folate and homocysteine in Malaysian adults. by Chew, Siew Choo, Khor, Geok Lin, Loh, Su Peng

    Published 2011
“…Serum and red blood cell folate were analyzed using a microbiological assay, while serum vitamin B(12) was determined by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLIA), and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used for the determination of serum vitamin B(6) and homocysteine. …”

The prevalence of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection among infants and correlation between CMV PCR with clinical outcomes in a tertiary teaching hospital in Malaysia by Norjihan Abdul Hamid, Nabilah Awang, Alwi Muhd Besari @ Hashim, Suharni Mohamad, Zeti Norfidiyati Salmuna

    Published 2022
“…A total of 648 hospitalized infants with clinically suspected cases of cytomegalovirus infection admitted to Hospital USM from January 2018 to December 2018 were tested for anti-CMV IgM and IgG by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay method. The results suggestive of CMV infection were requested for the second serum sample at 2-4 weeks’ interval together with plasma samples for CMV DNA viral load quantification by real-time PCR and maternal sample for serological analysis. …”
