Nanoscale deformation twinning in xenotime, a new shocked mineral, from the Santa Fe impact structure (New Mexico, USA) by Cavosie, Aaron, Montalvo, P., Timms, Nicholas, Reddy, Steven

    Published 2016
“…Here we describe the first occurrence of shock deformation in xenotime, YPO4, from a shocked quartz–bearing shatter cone in granite at the Santa Fe impact structure (New Mexico, USA). Backscattered electron imaging shows that shocked xenotime grains near the surface of a shatter cone contain multiple orientations of closely spaced planar fractures. …”

D.H. Lawrence, Rananim and Gilbert Cannan’s Windmills by Harrison, Andrew

    Published 2018
“…Lawrence have long recognized the significance of his various schemes to establish small utopian communities in locations such as Florida, the Andes, Palestine, Connecticut, and New Mexico. Recent accounts have, however, sought to distinguish the so-called ‘Rananim’ fantasy which Lawrence created with his wife and a select group of friends over Christmas and New Year 1914–1915 from his later schemes for communitarian living. …”

Advanced spectral analysis of ionospheric waves observed with sparse arrays by Helmboldt, J., Intema, Hubertus

    Published 2014
“…In the example presented here, we have used observations of the total electron content (TEC) gradient derived from Very Large Array (VLA) observations of synchrotron emission from two galaxy clusters at 330 MHz as well as GPS-based TEC measurements from a sparse array of 33 receivers located within New Mexico near the VLA. We show that these techniques provide a significant improvement in signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) of detected wavelike structures by correcting for both measurement inaccuracies and wavefront distortions. …”

Towards a new impact geochronometer: Deformation microstructures and U-Pb systematics of shocked xenotime by Joseph, Cilva, Fougerouse, Denis, Cavosie, Aaron, Olierook, Hugo, Reddy, Steven, Tacchetto, Tom, Quintero, R.R., Kennedy, Allen, Saxey, David, Rickard, William

    Published 2024
“…In this study, we investigate the U-Pb systematics of shocked xenotime from three impact structures, including Vredefort (South Africa), Santa Fe (New Mexico, USA), and Araguainha (Brazil). Xenotime at these sites is found in shocked granite, impact melt rock, and as detrital grains, and preserves a range of impact-induced microstructures, including planar fractures, planar deformation bands, deformation twins, and polycrystalline neoblastic grains. …”

Hemispheric regionalism: border discourse and the boundaries of American studies by Bailey, Caleb

    Published 2017
“…U.S. regionalism is introduced and interrogated through short case studies of New Mexico (the region considered the capital of early twentieth-century regionalism) and The Federal Writers Project (the New Deal venture that sought to tap into the potential of regionalism). …”
