New insights into the early stages of silica-controlled barium carbonate crystallisation
Published 2014“…© The Royal Society of Chemistry.Recent work has demonstrated that the dynamic interplay between silica and carbonate during co-precipitation can result in the self-assembly of unusual, highly complex crystal architectures with morphologies and textures resembling those typically displayed by biogenic minerals. These so-called biomorphs were shown to be composed of uniform elongated carbonate nanoparticles that are arranged according to a specific order over mesoscopic scales. …”

Effect of Solution Silicate on the Precipitation of Barium Sulfate
Published 2012“…These particles are different, however, to the biomorphs formed when crystallization of barium carbonate occurs in the presence of silicate. …”

Classification of actuation mechanism designs with structural block diagrams for flapping-wing drones: a comprehensive review
Published 2022“…Depending on their endearing resemblance, we have segregated Flapping-Wing Micro Air Vehicle (FWMAV) design patterns like birds, small birds, nano hummingbirds, moths, bats, biomorphic types, flapping test bench models, and fully flyable models, which are characterized by their flight modes. …”
