| Summary: | Food costs have risen in the present economy and the Ukraine war has created a worldwide food security issue that also affected Malaysia. Therefore, the objective of this study is to examine whether the conceptual understanding of the food security concept, total food value chain management and local food production have the significant effect on the food security in Malaysia. This study utilised a quantitative method by collecting the data from 302 respondents over the questionnaire questions. The result from this study show there was correlation and significant impact of local food production towards the food security in Malaysia but another two variables, conceptual understanding of the food security and total food value chain management have only correlation but not significant relationship with the food security in Malaysia. These findings were valuable to both theory and practise, as well as having significant implications for academics, policy makers and all the relevant parties that involved in the agriculture sector in Malaysia. |
