Thesis kecil ini adalah bertujuan untuk mengkaji sejarah Perkembangan Majlis Bandaraya George Town,proses demokrasi yang timbul berikutan dengan penubuhannya dan sambutan serta penyertaan penduduk-penduduk George Town terhadap institusi ini.
