description Eupatorium odoratum L. (EO) and Euphorbia hirta L. (EH) are two plants which are commonly used traditionally to treat wounds, asthma, warts and tumors. Even though the anti-cancer properties were described previously in the species, little was known on the activity of these plants specifically and on mechanism of cell death induced by these plant extracts. Hence, in this study, the ability of the plant extract to induce cell death was evaluated. Human breast carcinoma (MCF-7), human cervical carcinoma (Hela), human ovarian carcinoma (CaOV-3) and Vero cells were evaluated for response to treatment with EO and EH extracts.
