| description | A portable multi band sensor (100) for fruit maturity detection and classification comprising: at least one illuminator; at least one photodetector; a circuit board connected to the photodetector; an output display assembly to display output; characterized in that: the illuminator transmits a minimum of four wavelengths of light wherein the wavelengths of light are selected from a group consisting of 405nm, 510nm to 560nm, 620nm to 680nm, 710nm to 780nm and 840nm to 940nm or any combination thereof; the photodetector has a minimum of two wavelength ranges of 300nm to 800nm and 800nm to 1800nm; the microprocessor reads voltage from the photodetector for classifying output; and a mask to eliminate external light source during detection process.
