Arithmetic logic unit (ALU) - bit slice approach.

An Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) is the component in a computer that can perform arithmetic and logical operations which are essential in any data processing task. This section of the sytem is relatively small in size consisting of special logic configuration for high speed parallel operations.
