description A flow culture system study was carried out to evaluate the cultivating of Spirulina in filtered sago effluent under sunlight. Cultivation of Spirulina in FSE amended with 4 g/L sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) was compared with cultivation in FSE without any amendment by the measurement of dry cell weight (DCW). Both trials were observed for 21 days at pH 9.5. It was shown that culture in FSE amended with 4 g/L sodium bicarbonate has higher biomass although the biomass produced from Zarrouk medium (standard medium) was higher.
