Preliminary molecular study on yellow pufferfish (xenopterus naritus) and green-spotted pufferfish (tetraodon nigroviridis)

Pufferfish can be divided into 3 families namely Triodontidae, Tetraodontidae and Diodontidae. Family Tetraodontidae consists of 176 species and 27 genera (Dawes, 2005) which include the freshwater, brackish and marine species. They can defend themselves from other predators by body inflation.
