description A study was carried out in Balai Ringin Protected Forest, Sarawak to study at the floristic variation and stand structure of the early successional tropical rain forests communities. Twenty 0.04ha plots were enumerated to investigate the florists compositional change of the different age plots. A total 5359 individuals of woody plants with d bh > 1 cm were recorded, comprising of 290 species in 107 genera of 54 families.
