Description
Summary:The macrofauna in rocky mangrove area of Blungei Bay were sampled early August 2003. A total of 21 species from 16 families have been identified. Of these 18 species were mollusks and three remaining species were crustacean. Soil characteristic plays a major role in species wide distribution as the river mouth area consists largely of hard dry surface, suitable for organism's attachments. Tridacna squamosa can be found dominating in the river mouth area while Chthamalus malayensis dominates the area upriver.
