| description | In government efforts to lift the living standards of rural community in the rural area in Lundu district, Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority) SALCRA was introduced in order to achieve this purpose. The four villages aimed for the SALCRA palm oil plantation are Raso II, Bokah, Stunggkor" and Stom Muda. Most of the populations are natives, the Jagoi Bidayuh. The introduction of the scheme is to bring development and changes for the community in the area, which are regarded as poor and perform unproductive agriculture activities. Data in this study is attained through structured open-ended and closed-ended questionnaire distributed to respondents. Respondents are randomly picked from random number table. For data analysis on detennining factors influencing SALCRA participants in job selection, economic well being of SALCRA participants and the importance of hill rice farming, data are computed into Statistical Package for Social Sciences to obtain analysis of independent sample test, frequency and correlation. For analysis of benefit cost for hill rice and pepper farming, data are computed into Quick-silver program to obtain analysis on benefit cost ratio, internal present value and internal rate of return. |
