| Summary: | Examining the impacts of personal and contextual factors on raters' competency and compliance to accuracy as mediated by performance appraisal self-efficacy can be an important step to further understand raters' behavior in the context of performance appraisal. Drawing on Bandura's social cognitive theory and vast literature, this study proposed a theoretical model suggesting the impacts of predictor variables such as raters' perceived system knowledge, performance appraisal discomfort, perceived effectiveness of appraisal system, perceived purpose of appraisal results, self-monitoring on raters' competency and compliance to accuracy will be mediated by performance self-efficacy. |
