description Structures that are build on soft soil are subjected to the excessive amount of settlements and the settlement is attributed to consolidation process. In this study, the structure that been analysed is the road way embankment. In the loads from the structures, the settlement will occur in a period of time. The prediction of the settlements for embankment is very important in order to prevent the constructed road way settles in shorter period of time. The settlements that occur in the shorter period of time can consider as a failure. The most common method to accelerate the process of consolidation in Sarawak is conventional preloading with surcharge. In this project, chainage 250 as the connecting road to a bridge in Pantu, Sri Aman was used for the analysis.
