Summary:Most of the office employees spend a lot of their time inside a building, where the physical environments influence their wellbeing and directly influence their work performance and productivity. In the workplace, it is often assumed those employees who are more satisfied with the physical environment are more likely to produce better work outcomes. So, it was important to maintain a comfortable, safe, supportive physical environment to help workers stay motivated and productive. In this research, the study aims is to explore the impact of workplace environment towards employees' performance in FCSHD department. The data was collected by using qualitative approach and in-depth interview was use to identify the attitudes of participants about the effect of workplace environment on their performance. There are 5 volunteer respondents participate in this interview. From the data analysis, the results revealed three recurrent themes, which reflect the perspective of employee in this study regarding their working condition. Numerous studies have consistently demonstrated that characteristics of the physical office environment can have a significant effect on behavior, perceptions and performance of employees Based on the findings, it was recommended that the management of the department should make work environment more conducive by giving more attention to the provision of physical facilities, information services, motivation, authority-staff relationship, participation in decision making and staff development in order to facilitate better job performance of the staff.
