Summary:Agricultural wastes are produced by agricultural operations for instances are from forestry, farming, and agro industry. Accumulation of the wastes gives impacts to human and environment. In this research, utilisation of agrowastes which were sago ham pas, oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) and rice husk was done to obtain cellulase from Aspergillus niger via solid-state fermentation. Performance of each substrate for yielding high enzyme activity was studied with variation of range in SSF parameters including incubation period, initial moisture content of the substrate and incubation temperature. Enzyme activity was determined via filter paper assay and glucoses released were analysed with DNS method. Among of these agricultural wastes used, the best agricultural waste to produce the highest enzyme activity was sago ham pas during its optimal condition (2 days, 60% moisture content, 35°C) and followed by rice husk (6 days, 60% moisture content, 40°C) and OPEFB (6 days, 70% moisture content, 30°C).
