description “The Unsung Heroes” features a series of photos snapped in several encounters with unknown construction site labours who worked not only for themselves but also for their family and the society as a whole. They are simply unknown because not in a single minute that, one pays attention to them. While development and civilisation have demanded so much from each of us, their existence and contribution, in most of the time are ignored and made unknown to us. Unlike commonly done photographs which feature construction site labours who are shown working, this series of photographs were made possible with the willingness of these unsung heroes in opening up their private spaces or rather a public sphere - shared living room, kitchen and toilet - to the man behind his camera. Such open up is crucial in capturing moments which we seldom pay attention on. Their deprived living condition is also vividly captured in the photographs. A question to ask next - “Will their contribution made known and appreciated?” The answer lies beneath what eyes behold, hopefully with a better context and consciousness which these photographs attempt to bring about. What to say much? Happy labour day to all working class heroes!
