Description
Summary:This study investigates how common depression, anxiety, and stress (DAS) are among hospital nurses in Kedah. It shows how these mental health problems have a big effect on their health and work. Nurses often must deal with too much work, working shifts, and pressure from their bosses, all of which can make mental health problems worse. Even though there is study on the subject, not much has been said about how sociodemographic and workplace factors affect DAS among Malaysian nurses. Using a cross-sectional survey approach, the validated DASS-21 and Work-Related Questionnaire (WRQ) were used to get information from 100 nurses. The results showed that a lot of the people who answered had mild to severe DAS. The rates were higher for female nurses, people who made less than RM3600 a year, and people who worked rotating shifts. Key factors like job insecurity, too much work, and unsatisfactory hours were strongly linked to higher DAS scores. This shows how important socio-demographic variables (like age and gender) and workplace stressors (like shift patterns and pay levels) are. The study agrees with earlier research that stressed the negative effects of the way people work together, with shifting schedules and unstable finances being two major causes of stress. These results make it clear that specific steps need to be taken right away to improve the health and productivity of nurses. These steps could include making the workplace safer, providing more mental health support, and making sure that nurses can easily access these tools.
