| description | This study examines the levels of occupational stress and associated risk factors within different departments in a hospital in Perak. The main goal is to identify the level of occupational stress among healthcare workers in Perak's hospital, to assess the risk factors associated with occupational stress among healthcare workers and to compare the level of stress and associated risk factors among healthcare workers within different departments such as Emergency Department, ICU Department, Operation Theatre Department, Surgical Ward Department and Orthopaedic Ward Department. To calculate mean ratings for working environment, job demand, job performance stress, and job performance anxiety, data were gathered via surveys and analysed it. The results show that the ED has the greatest stress levels, with noteworthy ratings for working environment, job performance stress, and job demand. The Surgical Ward exhibits high levels of stress as well, especially in relation to the working environment and job performance stress. Because surgical procedures have such high stakes, the operation theater department experiences a great deal of stress, which is reflected in its job performance stress and job demand scores. Despite having the least stressful workplace, the intensive care unit (ICU) department nonetheless encounters high job demands and performance stress, while the orthopaedic ward experiences moderate levels of stress. Targeted treatments are advised in high-pressure departments to manage and lessen stress in light of these findings. |
