The Takaful Operational Guidelines, introduced in 2013 is adjudged an avenue for expanding into new geographies and client segments flavoured with a Shari‘ah-compliant appeal in bridging the endemic insurance gap. However, the Guidelines, Insurance Act, and a host of other enabling regulatory instruments are enmeshed in a web of regulatory conflict and ambiguity - conditions inimical to the successful application of Takaful. |
