| Summary: | When mapping is applied for the Double Weight code family to increase the number of users, for Spectral Amplitude Coding Optical Code Division Multiple Access (SAC OCDMA) systems, the conventional complementary detection technique cannot be used to retrieve the intended signal because of the unfixed cross-correlation value between different code sequences. This paper studies the software simulation for two alternative detection schemes that can support mapping; the hybrid WDM/SAC and a proposed reduced set of Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG) for the hybrid WDM/SAC. The performance of the two systems have been simulated and analyzed by the Virtual photonics Instrument (VPI) version 7.1. ©2007 IEEE.
