Volatile constituents from the infected wood of aquilaria malaccensis Benth
Upon hydrodistillation of Malaysian ‘gaharu’ (agarwood), an essential oil is obtained in 0.8% yield. The odour of the oil can be described as warm, diffusive, strongly woody and characteristic.
