| Summary: | The aim of this paper is to investigate factors influencing environmental awareness among Malaysian public university students. Factors such as attitude, behaviour, knowledge and practices were focused in this research. A survey was carried out by involving 51 respondents who were selected randomly. The respondents were students of a public university from the northern region. Data was collected from the respondents by distributing the questionnaires through emails. Knowledge was found to be the most contributing factor towards environmental awareness among Malaysian public university students. Knowledge was also the most influencing factor towards environmental awareness among Malaysian public university students and it had a significant relationship toward environmental awareness with the value of β=0.445, r=0.626, p˂0.00. Environmental awareness is very important for all humans, especially students because a lot of environmental issues are emerging which could threaten existence of humanity in this world.
