description To meet the increasing demands of professional as well as private life, maintaining an optimum work life balance has become a necessity. It has been observed that an imbalance between the two has lead to disruption of work and personal life. Juggling between work and life effectively is an overwhelming, yet essential task, especially for those in the teaching field. A good work life balance is reflected by increased levels of job satisfaction, decreased level of burnout and contentment in personal life. This study aimed to assess the degree of WLB job satisfaction and burnout among local lecturers and expatriate lecturers and also determined if there were any differences in work life balance prior to and during the lockdown. A total of 207 lecturers were gathered through online survey for the study, and their responses were analysed using SPSS. The data obtained suggested that there exists a positive relationship between work life balance and job satisfaction and a negative relationship between work life balance and burnout. Recommendations, limitations and suggestions for future research were also stated. It is hoped that this study provides insights about work-life balance, job satisfaction and burnout experienced by university lecturers that can prove to be helpful for educational institutions.
