Objectives of this paper are to understand the internationalization of platform-based firms from motivation and entry mode; and growth strategy and value creation. Both qualitative Methodology and quantitative Methodology are utilized to collect data based on the case of Alibaba Group. Discussions of platform-based firms’ internationalization strategies are given at the end of this paper as well as limitations of this paper.
