Interest in spider silk as a biomaterial has recently increased owing to its strength, biocompatibility, biodegradability, lack of immunogenicity and pyrogenicity. Unfortunately large scale production from spiders is highly impractical, as their cannibalistic nature prevents them from being farmed....
