qualitative approach of thematic analysis to examine the objectives of the study. This paper
examines 5 respondents from the textile industry of Pakistan. It is observed that terrorism does
not have any meaningful impact over procurement, transportations, labour force, and market
imbalance. This study also signifies the importance of contracts, inventory, storage capacity,
and warehouses in maintaining the balance between the market forces. On the other hand, it is
observed that from inactivity of the price regulating authorities to supplier’s inelastic
behaviour, procurement process is affected by the poor policy making, inconsistent strategies,
and lack of interest of the ruling elite. Political instability also plays a key role in disrupting the
process of transportation. Contradictory, findings explicate that there is no meaningful impact
of political instability on labour force. As far as market imbalance is concerned, it has been
examined that whenever any uncertainty arouses or any event of political instability occurs,
market of the textile industry reacts the most. Finally, this research will help managers in
understanding the impact of terrorism and political instability on supply chain. |
