Summary:The aim of this project is to investigate the users' perception (i.e. University of Nottingham students) of Moodle. Through this exploration, the author aims to identify and suggest feasible improvements for Moodle that could increase users' engagement with it as it is currently adopted by many universities in the world as their VLE. The thesis will interview users of Moodle to collect information about their usage habits and their general awareness of Moodle function. Also users will be asked to try using a modified version of Moodle, and give opinion to the modified version comparing to the university Moodle. Conclusion and recommendations for this research after analyse the collected information of users' perception will be: I. change the layout of Moodle that make the communication tools more visible; 2. Setup general forum that allows cross department communication; 3. Develop mobile application of Moodle; 4. Provide training to academic staff.
