description Gender has become a significant issue in management and organization, which is worth to be noticed in both theory and practical perspectives. Also as the improvement of female education level, more successful female leaders/managers play important roles in business world. However, there still exist some traditional barriers for many women to develop their career. Therefore, understanding the patterns to make female leaderships distinctive is a modern topic, and researching the women different career path will contribute to further studies in leadership theories, gender theories and career theories. This dissertation was based on five research questions concerning female leadership, including (1) what are the differences in leadership styles between women and men; (2) what are the advantages of gender diversity; (3) what are the barriers for women to get higher executive positions; (4) how female employees to break those barriers (especially how to achieve work-life balance); and (5) how to develop career paths to success for young ambitious women. This research aims to gain insight of how modern female leaders think about those research questions and provides some suggestions to young women. Qualitative data were collected from 6 successful Chinese women leaders in different executive positions that from various areas and industries. I hope some arguments in this dissertation could let companies to aware of the gender issues, and some solutions could be referred for companies to deal with those issues and to encourage more women into executive levels. In the end, this paper also provides some suggestion for young women which might be serve as a guideline for them to have more confidence to chase a better life.
