| Summary: | This thesis attempts to explore the theory application within one China based organisation, in this way to address the void in by studying the implications of applying resource based view, core competency and dynamic capability concepts to foreign organisation business management, by identifying the core competencies and the dynamic capabilities of the company.
The theoretical framework consists of the strategy concept, resource based view, critical assessments about RBV, core competency,and dynamic capability concept, by exploring the conceptions about the firm resource, strategy analysis in practise. By employing the theoretical approach to identify the core competencies and dynamic capabilities of a China based company, this study aims to offer answers on a particular dilemma of this firm. Also the analysis methods may also be used as a guideline, and replicated in similar organizations.
Semi-structured interviews and focus groups are used to be instrument to collect the company management opinions towards the core competencies and dynamic capabilities identification. The methodology consists of four main phases with the aim to explore general themes within the firm and then utilise an investigative approach to identify the core competencies of the firm.
Drawing from the findings, this research explains how to apply these resource-based view related concepts within an organisation and illustrate how existing knowledge of the firm and existing frameworks can be employed to identify core competencies as a basis of competitive advantage and dynamic capability.
