This result in increasing complexity of supply chain network and a high level of supply chain risks. In addition, supply chain risk management become vital and can be used to mitigate supply chain risks. There are many previous research focused on supply chain risk management in developed countries, but not many take depth research on a specific country or in a developing countries, especially the world factory – China, who has different in context of government policies, regulations, environment, and culture, which can change the framework of supply chain risks and risk management. The purpose of this dissertation research is to explore the supply chain risks in China and mitigation strategies they used by investigate a domestic small medium enterprise and a domestic multinational corporation in China. In addition, through analysis identified supply chain risks, to generate suitable supply chain mitigation strategies to help companies in China to solve these risks with better performance. It uses case study research method through semi-structured telephone interviews with two employees from two case companies each to explore the supply chain risks in these two case companies under categories of upstream risks, downstream risks, internal risks, and supply chain scope risks. Moreover, the identified risks will be analyzed through probability, impact, and expected value in order to rank the supply chain risks by priorities. Finally, risk mitigation strategies will implemented based on probability and impact, and creates resilient supply chains are recommended to Chinese companies.
