description The aim of this study is to analyse bank accounting and market performance and compare it with stock market performance in pre and post recession environments. The methodology used is to calculate individual and market adjusted returns and compare with each other. Extensive previous literature has been studied including the effects on declining performance. The study has identified relationships between stock market performance and bank performance if bank has major operations in the UK. It is recommended that both banks and government work together to be more proactive in future to avoid or at least prepare themselves for these kind of crisis.
