description The research was carried out to analyze the existing Lean assessment frameworks and explore their role in organizational performance. In this endeavor, four business models Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA), European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence and Lean Enterprise Self Assessment Tool (LESAT) were contemplated and adopted to derive conclusions. The overall scrutiny of the frameworks pointed out the fact that there are tremendous learning opportunities in the form of finding „hidden spots‟ or areas of improvement once the assessment is conducted. Moreover, the invaluable feedback from the assessments proved to be an overwhelming factor which most managers of enterprises support. The findings reveal that besides the companywide deficiencies, it takes into account the best practices which the models encourage to share within the enterprise and extended enterprise. However, criticisms regarding the sustainability of these results from various authors and organizations exist. It is often considered as a „costly affair‟ due to the resources invested and time consuming owing to its complexity and procedures. Despite all this, the ongoing value creation to enterprises in the long run has overcome these judgments. To experiment the practicality of these models, the LESAT framework, because of its simplicity and availability compared to other models was chosen and executed at TopDeck Parking (an operating division of Hill & Smith Holdings PLC). Within the short span of time in which the assessment was run, numerous gaps and strengths of the enterprise was brought to light. This espoused the fact that assessments are key indicators for measuring the progress of an organization. The research contributes further directions of improvements for the company and concludes by encouraging the enterprises to incorporate assessment as part of their business model.
