Description
Summary:This paper investigates the value relevance of players to football clubs. Relevance both in relation to on-field success as well as external valuation are assessed. Both a single and multiple regression analysis are utilised, with the media and software industries used for comparison. Although there has been lots of research into the value relevance of intangible assets as their relevance to the modern economy grows, there has been relatively little investigation into specific industries, particularly an industry as unique as the football industry.
