description This is an exploratory study of the design challenges in business schools. It seeks to identify the most important design dimensions for management education and the management profession, with an aim of recommending a new business school in which students could obtain a variety of skills and abilities that will help them better face the complexity of the current business world. This dissertation will critically probe different dimensions of design challenges in business schools using a theoretical framework and methods, as well as data gathered from a literature review and semi‐structured interviews with elite people. Based on this structure, this research examines the most important design dimensions, which are rethinking and an enquiry mind‐set, applying a whole approach as a manager, humanity, creativity and practice. Then implementation of these design dimensions in management education and for current managers is discussed. And finally, based on the findings from the literature, elite interviews and the final conclusions of the study, this paper will recommend a type of business schools based on the design approach.
