Whether it is trade facilitation, regulatory compliances or import-export business it has earned a significance importance. The research comprises of a thorough review on supply chain, its security and quality management techniques. Since, the last decade security has gained significant importance in the supply chain and organizational activities, so it is interesting to talk about various standards and security procedures in different countries. As, the emergence of security has increased, it is better to understand and incorporate total quality management techniques into supply chain security. Quality techniques like TQM and Six Sigma are very much related and connected to security development. The author has cited certain supply chain security standards and various regulations regarding international trade and customs as an assessment in different countries. Research on various security and trading issues in different sector for India have been done to find out the difference between developing and developed countries. As, India is one of the leading country in exporting food products and consumable items, so it is appealing to explore the current scenario and future prospects. The present situation is not good enough in India regarding supply chain security, transportation and logistics. In rural areas the equipments that people are using to protect agriculture products especially in warehouses and logistics are not good enough and up to the mark. The condition is better in urban areas and big cities as they have begun using techniques like RFID, Six Sigma and other quality techniques to upheld their business and corporate affairs. Finally, I have tried to show connections between total quality management and security along with its influence in Indian context. The study revels several facts about supply chain and its security in India and the areas required to improve.
