This dissertation aims to study the older workers in the Chinese auto parts manufacturing industry. Qualitative research methods are used. A series of research questions are proposed in order to understand the reasons that older workers remaining in the organizations, the difficulties they face in the workplace, the reasons that company hires older workers, and older workers’ degree of satisfaction of human resource (HR) policies in their organizations. The participating interviewees of this research are older workers and HR managers from two chosen companies. Interview results are analyzed and discussed by being applied to the identified literature and background studies. Finally, some practical managerial implications are carried out for managers. |
